    Hi there.

So you’re still getting this error even with the latest version of the bp-wiki plugin?

In reply to - Steve posted an update: Hm, I’m loving this! However, while running the latest versions of WordPress (3.0.1) and BuddyPress (1.2.5.2): * Using Group Wiki Extension, I am unable to make do anything, a blank page appears when I try to make a wiki for a group. * Using BuddyPress Wiki Component (0.9.7), all users (even if [...] · View

Unfortunately the problem with using free and opensource software is often the lack of documentation. I’ve been through similar situations myself.

My advice for any and all wordpress installations is to avoid using something like fantastico for it though. I’ve seen countless people with problems because of that.

In reply to - Judy posted an update: No, the multi-site/network must not be enabled because I have no idea what it is and it would be helpful that everything needed to make something work would at least have some type of explanation to it. I had to do a search to figure out what the heck this multi-site/network thing [...] · View

Hi there. What version of WordPress are you running? Do you have multi-site/network enabled?

In reply to - Judy posted an update: I installed v 1.8 yesterday. When I enable the Wiki within a buddypress group and click SAVE, I get the error: ”Oops! This link appears to be broken.” It is trying to go to http://simhub.org/groups/second-life/admin/wiki. I downloaded the plugin and manually uploaded it to the wp-content/plugins directory, then activated the plugin like usual [...] · View

Which wiki plugin are you using? BPGW or bp-wiki?

In reply to - Alex Crabtree started the forum topic Wiki Activity in Private/Hidden Groups in the group Wiki Creation Errors : I have all of the most current installs of Wp, BP, and Wiki. First off, I love this tool! But there is a problem. All of the activity surrounding the Wikis in private/hidden groups is leaking into the public activity stream [...] · View

It should be fine in the latest version of BP afaik.

I will attempt to sort out the issue you’re seeing in BPGW but at the moment I don’t have the time spare to look at it sorry…so it will have to wait for a bit before I can do anything.

In reply to - Sharon Miranda posted on the forum topic Wiki creation errors in the group Wiki Creation Errors : I also have the same error. I am running BuddyPress Group Wiki 1.8 with WordPress 3.0.1 (network/multi-site activated) and buddypress.1.2.5.2. Attempting to set up a group wiki in a hidden group. You suggest using the wp-wiki but isn’t that not ready for [...] · View

Ah right. I’m at a bit of a loss. I’ll see if I can recreate the error on a test install somewhere.

  • D Cartwright posted on the forum topic Wiki creation errors in the group Wiki Creation Errors:   3 weeks, 3 days ago · View

Ah, no..though I have looked at it now.

Are you running on a subdomain or subfolder install of wordpress?

  • D Cartwright posted on the forum topic Wiki creation errors in the group Wiki Creation Errors:   3 weeks, 3 days ago · View

Hi there. Don’t worry about your English. It’s fine :) That does sound like a strange error. I’ve noticed a few weird issues myself since performing some recent testing of the plugin. To be honest with you, my recommendation is to go back to bp-wiki. This plugin whilst not as developed is likely to be [...]

Out of interest, do you have no wiki pages when you get this error? Or have you specified to create some?

Also, have you clicked create and then gone back a step in the group creation process?

Just trying to get an idea of what exactly is causing the error :)

You can use Wordpress3.0.x fine but as you say, you will need to activate multi-site mode. Details in the post below:

Hope that works for you :)

Can I have a link and login to your site please? I’ll have a look.

    Hi Deryk,

I’ll look to add this css in the next update. Hope your site is working okay despite the lack of bp-wiki updates.

That’s strange. I saw this kind of error on sites where people had installed WordPress3.0 and hadn’t activated network/multi-site mode but not since. Are you definitely running WPMU and not just WordPress?

In reply to - Sara Garrett started the forum topic Error Message when creating new group in the group Wiki Creation Errors : Just installed and activated this great plugin but I can’t use it. I have the newest versions of WPMU and buddypress – any ideas why I’d be getting this message? • Quick fix to 1.8 due to forgetting to strip out some http tags during wiki creation.  This should sort out file upload problems for any new wikis.

I’ve also re-enabled registrations for a bit.  We’ll see how spammy it gets, I guess…

  • D Cartwright wrote a new blog post: Registration Temporarily Disabled   1 month ago · View

Unfortunately there seems to be a glut of spam registrations at the moment.  I’ve disabled new registrations for now until I have time to put some better anti-spam measures in place. For now, if you are a new user that has come here for support, drop me an email at d dot p dot cartwright [...]

(by the above post I mean that I checked the functions earlier today and aim to fix them later tonight)

  • D Cartwright posted on the forum topic Restrict editing to admin only fails in the group BPGW Issues:   1 month ago · View

    Hi there.

The functions for checking this are currently placeholders. I’ll aim to get an update out tonight to sort this but I might have other commitments.

  • D Cartwright posted on the forum topic Restrict editing to admin only fails in the group BPGW Issues:   1 month ago · View

Hi there – is this using the newer bp-wiki plugin rather than the old buddypress-groupwiki plugin? If so, it is quite possible that the admin/mod rights are placeholders. I’ll check into it whilst I continue cleaning up the plugin this week (and release a new version).
